About the Role

OPSAN is seeking an empathetic and skilled Cancer Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team. The Cancer Psychologist will play a critical role in supporting patients and their families by addressing the psychological challenges associated with cancer diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in psychological counseling within oncology or palliative care settings, with expertise in offering evidence-based therapies tailored to the emotional and mental well-being of cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to cancer patients and their families to address anxiety, depression, grief, and emotional distress.
Develop personalized therapy plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and treatment journey.
Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health and adjust therapeutic approaches as needed.
Collaborate with oncology and palliative care teams to deliver comprehensive, integrated care.
Educate patients and families on coping strategies, relaxation techniques, and other psychological tools to enhance resilience.
Organize support groups and workshops to provide a shared space for patients and families to connect and share experiences.
Stay updated on the latest research and techniques in psycho-oncology and palliative care psychology.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of experience working as a psychologist in oncology or palliative care settings.

  • License or certification in clinical psychology is required.

  • Proven ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care with a deep understanding of the complexities of cancer treatment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies, including CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches, and grief counseling.
